The Journey

Let me go..
Let me find my own road
Every journey begins with a desire,
To see, to feel, to touch the world
With all we possess.

Let me go...
Let me find the fork I need to take.
Everyone needs a marker
To say they passed this way..
Let me be the marker
Of my own new way

Each and every soul has a story to unravel,
A journey to commence,
Some need a guiding light,
Others a glance that propels them ahead,
And then there are those that need
To see the destination from afar.

And through all this only the wise realise,
whatever be the end, or the middle
The beginning is all that matters....

The Visits - Mag 58

Watching them leave
emptiness all around
back to the start.
ten steps back for
 every half step forward..
this macabre dance
at the end of each month.

Pausing by the calendar
circling the same digits
of a new Gregorian phase.
The lights turned dim
the shadows on the wall,
glinting metal and shield.

This gift was a curse
breaking ties apart
the folklore said.
Too late to heed
the damage ran deep,
visitation rights wasn't
all this warrior craved.

The Nightmare - Mag 55

Courtesy Magpie

Weary feet in step
with the world's drum
a casual glance reveals
the carefully constructed
facade still in place.

Some normal  days
solace brings along
the journey thus far
highly strung nerves
like a coiled spring
never knowing when
dim courage has bolted...

A nervous tick belies
the hidden tremors awakening
blood splattered walls
lemon souffle and fork
the nightmare begins....

Sympathetic voices
wake up to
seems much longer
our last meal
before they took her
my only child
draped in blood
darkness covers
as they burgled along...

The Puzzle Mag - 54

Come night
the pieces
on the bedside floor
 attacking them with
single minded devotion
joining, disjoining
the chaos
the mind swirls in
simple enough
at first glance
some fit like
they are born to it
others belong
so obvious elsewhere
trying desperately
fails to find
the lost one
the missing piece
of her lonely heart...

Adrift

A love so strong
how could it be
so wrong.

You were divine,
meant to be mine.
summer's grace
that was your face.

Flashing meadows,
gushing tides,
your laughter filling up
every site.

Felt you
in my arms,
felt you

in my soul.
A love so strong
how could it be
so wrong.

Come back,
come back from
from the void
 you have gone to.

Take me,
take me back
to the time
I was before.

A love so strong
how could it be
so wrong.

The Highway Notes

Standing on the highway,
watching life zoom by,
rushing to destinations
near and afar.
Left alone, left behind,
that was me.

Leaning on the doorway,
watching people walk by,
homeward bound
they all are.
Left alone, left behind,
that was me.

Seated by the window,
 hearing some one talk,
finding a patient listener
how lucky have they got.
Left alone, left behind,
that was me.

Chatting on the social network,
seeing statements being made,
mutually beneficial exchanges
is the new magic word,
Left alone, left behind,
 that was me.

I end the day's notes,
sometimes high, sometimes low,
Pretending that wasn't you,
knowing that was definitely me....

You Were There

Eyes that twinkled with the
glimmering light of far away stars,
They gazed at me as
though I was their rock star.

Lips that lisped sweet words
in my soul, a chord was struck,
They made mundane words seem
more precious than the preciouss.

Tiny hands that wiped away
the invisible tears I shed,
On my cheeks they felt
like the softest of silks.

The warm body that hugged
sharing all the love it possessed,
The vibe that I sensed
of the special bond created

The look that you gave reflected
wisdom way beyond your years,
as though you somehow understood
the pain and ache behind the false smiles.

You gave me something
No one else can ever give,
The warm glow of a million suns
that light up my dark days and nights.

With you around
life is easier to face,
My strength, my sanity,
my joy, my grace.

 Just remember in
 the days yet to be,
This heart will beat for you
as yours did beat for me.

( Dedicated to my tiny powerhouse of a nephew Sidartha aka Sid
whose innocence and love helped me through my darkest year )
